NYC Field Marketing Intern
Finger Foods Farm | New York City
Part-time | 7-8 hours/week | $20/hr
Late August/September 2026 – March 2027, with opportunity to extend
About Finger Foods Farm
Finger Foods Farm is a farmer-founded emerging food brand making convenient, vegetable-forward frozen soups. What started on our vegetable farm in the Finger Lakes has grown into a retail brand sold in grocery stores across the Northeast.
As we grow our presence in New York City, we’re looking for an energetic, creative person to help us build awareness, connect directly with consumers, and make sure we’re showing up well at retail.
This isn’t a desk internship. You’ll be our boots on the ground in NYC—sampling soup with customers, visiting stores, creating content, learning what’s happening at retail, and helping us find creative ways to introduce more New Yorkers to Finger Foods Farm.
What You’ll Do
In-Store Demos & Consumer Engagement
You’ll conduct approximately one in-store demo per week at NYC-area retailers. You’ll set up and run product sampling, talk with shoppers about Finger Foods Farm, answer questions, and help turn trial into sales.
You’ll also help us learn from the people trying our products by gathering informal consumer feedback and sharing insights about what you’re hearing in stores.
Retail Merchandising & Store Checks
You’ll regularly visit Finger Foods Farm retail locations throughout NYC to help us understand how our products are showing up on shelf. That may include:
- Checking product availability, pricing, placement, and merchandising
- Making sure products are properly faced and displayed when permitted
- Photographing freezer placement and displays
- Flagging out-of-stocks, missing tags, or other issues
- Keeping a simple store-visit tracker
- Occasionally checking competitor products, pricing, promotions, and merchandising
Whenever possible, we’ll coordinate store checks with demos and other trips around the city.
Social Media & Content Creation
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is curious, dependable, outgoing, and excited about helping build a young food brand.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Live in or have easy access to New York City
- Are comfortable approaching and talking with people
- Are dependable and able to work independently
- Enjoy creating social media content and have a good eye for what makes engaging content
- Are interested in food, CPG, marketing, retail, entrepreneurship, farming, or sustainable food systems
- Are willing to travel between stores throughout NYC
- Like the idea of working with a small company where you’ll have meaningful responsibility rather than a narrowly defined internship assignment
Previous retail, food, marketing, social media, or demo experience is helpful but not required.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
This is a paid, part-time position averaging approximately 7 hours per week at $20/hour.
Most weeks will include one approximately four-hour in-store demo, along with additional time for store visits, content creation, and other marketing activities. The exact schedule will vary based on demo and event opportunities, so some flexibility is important.
Approved local transportation between work locations and other work-related expenses will be reimbursed.
The initial position will run from approximately late August/early September through March 2026, with the possibility of extending through the winter.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to get unusually hands-on experience building an emerging CPG brand. You’ll see firsthand what it takes to grow a product at retail—from getting customers to taste it, to understanding what happens on the shelf, to creating the marketing that brings people into stores.
You’ll work directly with Finger Foods Farm’s founder and have the opportunity to contribute ideas, test what works, and see the impact of your work in real time.
